Civil Lawsuits For Sexual Assault
Trusted Legal Advocates For Sexual Abuse Survivors In New Jersey
Many sexual assault and abuse survivors believe that if criminal charges aren’t filed or don’t lead to a conviction, there are no other options. That’s not true. An experienced sexual assault lawyer in New Jersey can help you pursue justice through the civil court system, regardless of the outcome or occurrence of a criminal case.
A civil lawsuit allows you to hold your abuser and any institution or third party that enabled the abuse financially accountable for the harm you’ve endured. Civil claims focus on compensating you for your suffering, including emotional trauma, medical expenses, lost income, and pain and suffering. Civil claims also carry a lower burden of proof than criminal cases, meaning you do not need a conviction to pursue justice.
We offer free, confidential consultations that help you determine who can be held liable and how you can proceed with your civil sexual assault case. This includes any institution, business, or organization that ignored your assault, tried to cover it up, or cultivated an environment that allowed it to happen.
