New Jersey Medical Malpractice Lawyers Report on Safest New Jersey Hospitals

According to the Leapfrog Group, a nonprofit healthcare watchdog organization, hospitals in New Jersey are doing much better this year than last. The group raised the state’s ranking from 22nd to 15th in the nation for protecting patients from harm. Hospitals are graded on 30 measures, including infection rates, wound care, adequate physician and nurse staffing, and patient surveys about communication and interaction with hospital staff. According to these measures, Maine, Hawaii, Oregon, Wisconsin, and Idaho ranked in the top five; while North Dakota, Washington, D.C., Delaware, and Alaska were tied for 47th or last place.
Study findings show that New Jersey hospitals that dropped at least one grade from last year include:

- Memorial Hospital
- Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital – Rahway
- Atlanticare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City
- Atlanticare Regional Medical Center in Pomona

- Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune
- JFK Medical Center in Edison
- Ocean Medical Center in Brick
- Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge
- Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy
- Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital – Hamilton
- Clare’s Hospital in Denville
- Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin
