Man Hit After Standing by Disabled Car in Lawrence Township

Man Hit After Standing by Disabled Car in Lawrence TownshipA man sustained life-threatening injuries after a car hit him while he was standing beside his disabled car. On Sunday morning, around 2:10 am, the car accident occurred on Interstate 95 in Lawrence Township, New Jersey when a sedan rear-ended one car, which then hit the disabled car, and struck the driver of that car. The 44-year-old victim from Delaware was brought to the Capital Health Regional Medical Center for medical treatment. It is uncertain why the victim’s car was stopped in the center lanes of the highway or if intoxicated driving was a factor in the accident.

When a car accident occurs, not only are car occupants at-risk for personal injuries or potential fatalities but any pedestrians who are near the crash may be in danger. At night, the lack of visibility may be a contributing factor in an accident as well as the possibility of drivers engaging in drowsy driving or being under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Victims may incur a variety of injuries that cause them emotional distress on top of the physical trauma they may endure and make it challenging for them to earn a living while recovering.
